Happy New Year! Let's
see what the Japanese hobby scene has to offer for the coming year.
Hirobo
Hirobo debut their new
flagship machine, the Eagle 99 WC DTDS. This Eagle featured the dual gear
DTDS system of the Eagle Freya. This limited edition (500 pieces) kit list
for a whopping US$3,100-, which make it the most expensive F3C helicopter kit
from Japan.

JR Helicopter Division
JR showed some parts specially
for their extremely expensive IMZ RV50S engine to fit into the Ergo line
helicopters. Preliminary calculation shows that in order to fit the IMZ 50
engine into an Ergo one have to spend a total of about US$750- (All list price)
for the engine, exhaust, engine mount, lower main frames, and clutch.
Worth or not depends on one's intellect, I guess.

Pioneer
Pioneer, a Japanese upgrade
parts manufacturer, officially released their Accurate 30 helicopter. The Accurate
30 features 3 servos 120 degree CCPM, and is fully loaded with Pioneer's option
parts. The base model (List US$540-) and the high end model DX (List
US$700-) will be available in the Japanese market in early January 2001.

Quick
Quick, who very rarely
advertise in R/C Technique, posted a full page ad this month featuring their new
Fighter line of helicopter. The Quick Fighter 60 basically is the same
machine as the TSK Acrostar 60. Curiously, TSK does not have any ad this month,
and Quick's ad is at the page where TSK ad is usually placed. Does this
means Quick is gradually taking over TSK?

Taya
Taya released the Bravo 60,
which is just the same Thunder Tiger Raptor 60 as sold in other parts of the
world. The difference between the Bravo and Raptor is just different name and
stickers.
