Hi guys!
The Chinese year of the Snake had started on 24th January, 2001.
First,
I would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous Year of the Snake!
As I am reviewing the progress of my page, I thought of a
checklist that I am about to do, and hoping it could be done in this year.
The checklist of things are as follows:
- Try to finish the
"under construction" pages - I still have lots of "under
construction" pages laying around somewhere in my computer, and some of
them dated back over two years! Most of the times when I thought of
writing a web page for certain issues I would take lots of photos as a
start, but most of the times before I even lay hands on re-touching the
photos other I would go around and write other pages that I deem to have
higher priority, so the photos and "under construction" drafts
just lay around inside my computer. I vow to finish these "under
construction" pages, at least most of the beginner tips page.

- Changing the look of this
website - I wanted to change the look of this site for long. However,
my limited artistic sense and my programming just prevent that from doing
it. In fact, I have at least twenty different schemes that I made
during free time but seems that I could not settle on one. Maybe you
who are graphic designer or web designer can give some advice to me as to
how to enhance the look and navigation of my site. I would want to
include more functions like a site map, pull-down navigation menu, a vote
counter and a guest book, but my limited skill just could not let me do it.
¡@
- Including others' work in
my site - Lately due to various reasons I have to learn Linux. (Linux is a
computer operating system, works like MS Windows, is built up by
contributions of programming codes from programmers around the world, more
powerful than Windows, and best of all its free) I like the thought of
the way Linux is built - Contribution of codes from programmers around the
world and a middle committee would choose which codes to be integrated into
Linux. If you have something you want to write about and present in a
web page format please do not hesitate to let me know. As long as its
objective based comment I am more than happy to incorporate them in my site,
or even setup a subnet. I do own a hosting company anyway so I have all the
necessary resources ready. At the very least, I would want someone who
could proof read my pages for any spelling/grammar/structural
mistakes. My writing style, due to my job nature, are dull and long
winding, so please if someone could suggest change that would enhance the
readability of my pages it would be nice.

- Thinking of ways to prevent
piracy from things of my site - Piracy from my site is getting more
crazy. While most visitor to here are very friendly guys I know, some
comes to my site and thinks that they could rip things away from my site and
get benefit from that. Aside from just ripping contents off my site
for personal use, lately I found a local publication even use contents in my
site to publish in their magazine without my consent. For this case, I
am consulting legal advice and would take these offenders to court. In
addition, from my technical support guys, I learnt that I could stop people
accessing my site by locking out their IP address from my server. I do
have a list of pirates that are ripping things off my site, so I gave the
list to my technical guys and they went on to lock the range of IP of the
pirates from my site. However, the way I do it is to lock not just one
IP but the whole group, and that means if there is a pirate in a group of IP
(usually own by ISP) then the whole group, whether they are being used by
pirates or not, will be locked out. So if later you have a problem
accessing my site it might mean their is a pirate logging into the net using
the same ISP as you do. I know that this is not an optimum way to
prevent piracy, and if you have other ways please let me know.
You are welcomed to to write
to me for any thoughts and ideas that you have that would help me achieve the
above.
Crooks update:
Many people wrote to me about
Mike Ellis, thank you. It seems that Mike was in a financial trouble when
he took my money. Come to think of it, we all have good times and bad
times in our lives. In good times we all would enjoy it to the max and
while bad times hit we should face the reality like a man. Mike has been a
good friend, someone that I looked up to. I was upset mostly because I
felt cheated by a friend. Yes I do concern about the money, I am human
too, but my character would rule friendship has a higher priority than money. I
hope Mike would come to me and we could settle this in an orderly fashion.
As to Royce Braderman, there
is still no words from him..... I trust Royce because he is a military
personnel, and I pay a high respect to military personnel and policemen cause
its these guys who do their jobs so that I could sleep well in the night.
Am I too naive? I've heard that its not the first time that he took other's
engine and money and never give them back.....
Under construction helicopter

- TT Raptor 60 review -
Helicopter assembled, engine in run-in stage, need more photos.
- Eagle Freya revisited -
Near finish
I have added a JR Voyager 50
and a TT Raptor 60 to my fleet. The main reason for these addition is
because some people e-mailed me and said most of my reviews are based on models
that are either at the very high end or are not available in their area.
As to the Freya, there are a lot of people asking me about the latest of my
Freyas, so I will write an update about them. My Freyas have been with me
for over 100 flights each, and they have evolved a lot. I would concentrate on
how my Freyas have come to their setup at this stage and report on long term
wear and tear.
My current projects are:
- Testing OS91FX engines for
helicopter use
- Testing GY502 and GY601
gyros
- Testing the feasibility of
140 degree ECCPM
The above are something that I
am doing besides building the long piled up kits of mine. In addition,
there are some testing I am doing for some manufacturers that requires me to
keep a secret for the moment. In due course with the manufacturers permission I
would let you guys know about these efforts.
My helicopter related travel
schedule for 2001 (subject to change):

Nov. 2001 - International Air

above events if I am present.
In the mean time, since it
would take time for me to write my pages, if you have any questions/comments/suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail
at

Finally, hope you will have a
wonderful year of the Snake!
